The Vampire Diaries
The Vampire Diaries phenomenon is the reason I hate almost every Romance, Vampire or Werewolf series or pretty much anything that has to do with TVD (The Vampire Diaries).
First lets tackle the Vampire matter. Vampires are supposed to be a terrifying myth that inspires fear and mystery. It appears that TVD thinks otherwise because Vampires are ridiculous. For example the Salvatore Brothers are two 150 year old teen boys that go to highschool, behave like stalkers, are shy and miserable. They can easily be fooled or get hurt by humans because they are somehow not powerful or intelligent enough, and they chase after a girl, throughout six seasons, that fools them both.
On the other hand, TVD's supernatural story and universe is actually pretty decent; the werewolves, witches, dopplegangers and Original Vampires add to the plot and mystery of the series. In addition the hunters, travelers and the story of the first vampires supports the series. But the persistence to focus their entire world on one character (Elena) levels the whole story.Everyone is focused on the Elena-Salvatore Brothers triangle because she "loves" them both and in the end dumbs them both.So this series is about a frustrated teenage girl and two bad examples of vampires and their love triangle.
They built a whole other supernatural world so they can focus on 3 characters for 6 seasons.
One last thing.Stefan and Elena play 7 Dopplegangers for gods sake just get more actors already.
